Using the rail network to advance fiber optic connectivity

RATP Group subsidiary and the leading French service provider in dark fiber optic connectivity, for over 20 years RATP CONNECT has been building the most extensive fiber optic network along the metro and commuter rail lines throughout the Paris region. Today, we have more than 170,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables installed, including nearly 2,700 kilometers in railroad zones.

Developing mobility

RATP's underground and commuter rail network—with its hundreds of metro and train stations in the Paris region—is essential for urban mobility for those living and working there. It makes a significant contribution to the fight against climate change and makes day-to-day life easier for its users.

Promoting connectivity

RATP Connect takes advantage of all that rail infrastructure to install and operate a fiber optic network. This provides essential connectivity to telecom operators, digital service providers, and local authorities. 2,700 km of fiber optic cables installed along railroads have enabled the roll-out of a fiber optic network spanning some 170,000 km.
