Dark fiber, a reliable and cost-effective technology
Speeding up the digital transformation of businesses and local authorities using dark fiber
In order to allow businesses and municipalities to get the benefit of ironclad connectivity, RATP Connect has been working for over two decades to roll out the most extensive fiber optic network in the Paris region. What gives us our edge? Using the Paris metro and commuter rail infrastructure to lay fiber optic cables from one building to the next. Dark fiber paves the way to a more connected and high-performance future, meeting the growing demand from business customers for very high speed broadband connectivity.

Available as needed
Dark fiber refers to fiber optic cables that have been installed but are as yet unused. Unlike lit fiber optic cables, dark fiber optic cables do not initially transmit any light signals from one location to another. Dark fiber optic cables can be activated after installing fiber optic network equipment at both ends of the fiber optic cable in order to adjust the bandwidth as needed.
Scalable and adaptable
Designed to meet the needs of modern work environments and connected underground locations, dark fiber can be adapted to new working needs, such as the growing demand for cloud services and remote working. Dark fiber gives you the freedom to choose the operator who will be able to configure the network to meet any requirements.
A reliable and highly secure network
Opting for dark fiber means choosing stronger security for your data and your business activities. Considered a major technological revolution in the telecommunication sphere, dark fiber offers very high speed broadband connectivity, secure and tailored to the client's needs, all while ensuring a higher quality of data transmission.
